News Item Creation
The items are created using the Site Information > Manage Content > Add News Item menu.
You need to enter in the following:
- Give it a title
- Enter the body content with appropriate formatting
- Choose the Input Format - either Filtered or Full Html
- Page title settings - this is useful for SEO and will allow the news item to have a title appear at the top of the browser
- Vocabularies - select one or more of the following sections (Business news/econonmy, Company/markets or Precious metals). Each news item can be tagged with any of these items this taxonomy is used with searching and filtering.
- Meta tags - these are the code/descriptions that will appear behind the scenes on the news pages that the search engines use to index. The more appropriate the meta tags are and the better they relate to the content in general will see better search engine results.
- Publishing options - to publish to the outside world or not. The default is on.
- File attachments - if you want to add a link to a file/pdf document on/in your news item.
- Comment settings - if turned on, your members/general public can make comments about the item.
